The flames were further fanned by another listing from a German localization and dubbing studio, which has since been quietly removed. The next game in the Sonic franchise is heavily rumored to be a modern remake of Sonic Colors, reportedly set to be released on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One soon. With the most recent official games in the Sonic franchise being 2017's Sonic Mania and 2019's Team Sonic Racing, fans are no doubt increasingly more eager for new Sonic content, and unofficial games have long helped fill in the gaps between releases. A recent tweet by a Sega representative shed some light on the company's stance on Sonic The Hedgehog fan games, revealing that it mostly has no issue with them - so long as their creators aren't trying to turn a profit.
